Fenix 2 -

Fenix 2 is a tool which is used to rescue trapped miners in San Jose mine, Chile. Fenix 2 completely build by Chilean engineers.

Well done!

Chile Mine Rescue - A Hug From The President

That's what we called a President. I'm really love what has been done by Chili President.

If you listen to President of Chili you will feel that you are part of the operation, great speech, very encouraging.

If you doesn't know what was happened recently, then in brief there is an accident in Chili. A group of miners trapped underground approximately 620 m below the surface. Government setup a rescue operation to save 33 miners who trapped in the mining workshop, 620 m below surface.

The operation to lift the survivor to the surface, begin yesterday around 8 a.m. GMT + 7, and finished just a few minutes ago. Phoenix, a tools which is used to carry a people from the workshop to the surface. Basically, Phoenix act as an lift that you know in tall building.

I am really happy that all of the trapped miners is now in the surface. I can't imagine what they do in the workshop below the surface, with out enough ventilation (average 32 C, and 80% humidity, according to BBC), light, and enough food supply. According to the group leader, they just eat every 48 hours. I just wondering, if they eat then they need to ...., how they do it for almost 70 days? Who knows? That will be interesting stories.

One of My Best Friend at Communication Studies [Long Time Ago]

DSCN1075, originally uploaded by indra.kurniawan.

I found this photo coincidentally when I browse my Flickr's account. Looking this picture, I'm flashing back to almost 2 years ago when I was at Communication Studies.

This photo remind me about the situation at my campus at Jl. Sosio Yustisia, which has a great people. This campus surrounded by tree plantation that give us a "green" impression. Two floor U shaped building with a giant tree, right in the middle of the building. When you arrived, parked your vehicle, and entering this community you will saw a group of people sat at floor while waiting for class, or waiting in the cafeteria (although you just talking with out buying any meal or drink). Most of classes located at left section of this building or second floor at the right section.

In this photo, I was at room 1B which located at second floor, near corner of this building. You can find this room near room 1 A or Administration Office of Graduate Studies of International Relation. This photo was taken right after our Public Speaking class with Mrs Rajiyem.

Despite the fact that it was my past, I'm very proud that I've a chance being in that community. Last Monday, I also got invitation from my friend who named Dani to attend gathering with class of 2008. Well, that's an honor for me.

DRM Information Attached to MP3 Music from Fulltrack.com

Download Fulltrack.jpg, originally uploaded by indra.kurniawan.

Since I'm subscribed to Speedy Internet Service, so I can downloads legal music from Fulltrack.com (Telkom Indonesia Group). They gives me voucher that worth 50k every month. With this voucher I can download up to 10 music, videos, etc.

I love this services, since they can leverage Indonesia artist to be more creative. As we know, Indonesia hold the most copyright infringement cases.

To avoid any copyright infringement, Fulltrack.com attach most of the collection with DRM. As you can see in the picture, we can play music unlimited times, but problem arise when you want to re-install your OS because you can't back up your license.

I encourage every one in Indonesia to use this service. Music qualities from this website is GREAT, not like when you download from file sharing website.

Prambanan

Prambanan, originally uploaded by zsoolt.

Prambanan is a famous temple in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. For those who never heard about Indonesia, may be don't know about this temple. This temple was build during ninth century. This temple located nearly 18 KM from downtown Yogyakarta, Indonesia, but much closer if you want to visit this temple directly from airport.

Prambanan is one of UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia. Actually, Prambanan is a complex of temple, according to our myth, Prambanan planed to be a complex of 1000 temple, but for some reason this temple just had 999. Now, Prambanan only has less than 30 % of it's original temple.

Recently, Prambanan used as a national event location. Using appropriate decoration and lighning Prambanan will show it's beauty.

Bali - Tegallalang Rice Terraces

Bali - Tegallalang Rice Terraces

Three decades ago, the Balinese economy was largely agriculture-based in terms of both output and employment. Tourism is now the largest single industry; and as a result, Bali is one of Indonesia’s wealthiest regions. About 80% of Bali's economy depends on tourism. The economy, however, suffered significantly as a result of the terrorist bombings 2002 and 2005. The tourism industry is slowly recovering once again.

Although tourism produces the economy’s largest output, agriculture is still the island’s biggest employer; citation needed] most notably rice cultivation. Crops grown in smaller amounts include fruit, vegetables, Coffea arabica and other cash and subsistence crops.[citation needed] Fishing also provides a significant number of jobs. Bali is also famous for its artisans who produce a vast array of handicrafts, including batik and ikat cloth and clothing, wooden carvings, stone carvings, painted art and silverware. Notably, individual villages typically adopt a single product, such as wind chimes or wooden furniture.

The Arabica coffee production region is the highland region of Kintamani near Mount Batur. Generally, Balinese coffee is processed using the wet method. This results in a sweet, soft coffee with good consistency. Typical flavors include lemon and other citrus notes. Many coffee farmers in Kintamani are members of a traditional farming system called Subak Abian, which is based on the Hindu philosophy of "Tri Hita Karana”. According to this philosophy, the three causes of happiness are good relations with God, other people and the environment. The Subak Abian system is ideally suited to the production of fair trade and organic coffee production. Arabica coffee from Kintamani is the first product in Indonesia to request a Geographical Indication.

Although significant tourism exists in the north, centre and east of the island, the tourism industry is overwhelmingly focused in the south. The main tourist locations are the town of Kuta (with its beach), and its outer suburbs (which were once independent townships) of Legian and Seminyak; the east coast town of Sanur (once the only tourist hub); to the south of the airport is Jimbaran; in the center of the island Ubud; and the newer development of Nusa Dua.
